Welcome Back!!

We want all of the students here at St. Ann’s to feel loved and respected by everyone. As Catholic Christians, we are asked to live our lives as Jesus did and to treat others as Jesus taught us. We are asked to follow God’s commandments and to love one another....Sometimes this is a difficult task. In being called to this Gospel of living, last year we designed and implemented a program called “Pebbles of Faith”.

We feel that the program was very successful and we will be continuing it this year with “new faith” words. We will build on our words from last year and continue to strengthen the program. For those not familiar with the program below are excerpts from our original flyer introducing the program:

"I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget
what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

“I’m not sure where this quote originated, but I believe it to be so true and yet somewhat contradictory because it is in what you say and do that directly affects how you make people feel.

Jesus demonstrated and asked us to practice certain actions. We have chosen words that demonstrate these actions. Each month throughout the school year, we will be emphasizing one of these words. We will spend time at the morning gathering talking about our word of the month. We will relate it to scripture and talk about how we can live out this action in our lives. Classroom teachers will be doing follow-up discussions and activities in their classroom in support of this program.

At the beginning of each month, we will send home a letter letting you know the word of the month. Any support for this program that you can give at home will be greatly appreciated. For it is only through our working together that we will truly be successful with our children. “

Last year’s “Pebble of Faith” words were: Kindness, Sharing, Self-Control, Service, Trustworthy, Compassion, Patience, and Courtesy. As we continue to build on these words, watch for the new words we will be introducing this year.
